Thursday Practice Notes

The biggest news out of Thursday's practice? That Brandon Roy, with continued soreness in his hamstring, is questionable for Friday's game against Orlando. How bad is it? Well, Roy didn't practice today, and was nowhere to be found when the media were allowed in. Asked about who could start in his place McMillan said he hadn't thought about it. Furthermore, Sarge said the team did not spend today's practice working out a contingency plan for Friday, should Roy sit. Take that as you will. McMillan's comments on the upcoming game, following his thoughts on Martell Webster's newfound consistency here:
Indeed, Martell seems to be in the process of turning a new leaf. Or so we hope. For the first time in his career Webster has finished in double-figures seven straight times. He's not showing up for one game on offense only to disappear the next. Webster did crack a big smile when asked, but downplayed the streak's importance. It is in the end, he says, more about defense. And you can't be upset with that. Take a look:
Otherwise, practice was its usual, mostly un-eventful self. Nic Batum was going through shooting drills after practice broke, and Jerryd Bayless was doing some fierce one-on-one with Bill Bayno. Travis Outlaw showed up with a cane, but spent as much time twirling it as walking on it. I asked Travis about the stunning Lil' Wayne documentary, The Carter (you can watch the first 10 minutes here). Outlaw shared my sentiment that it's a strange, amazing film, even though he added, "sometimes I had no idea what (Wayne) was talking about." I don't think Wayne did either, I said.
Oh--I got some (grainy) footage of LaMarcus Aldridge (who says both his ankles are sore, but he will continue to play), Rudy Fernandez and Dante Cunningham having a little trick-shot contest after practice had wrapped. Enjoy:
