The Lockout is a downer. For one day and one day only, there are two basketball related fun times in Portland that can make it slightly less of a downer. On Sunday, November 6th, The Basketball Jones’s No Season Required Tour stops in Portland (Details here). (What do blogger groupies look like? Probably bloggers. Because they are all just other bloggers. Indeed.) TBJ will be recording a podcast on location with guests Ben Golliver of Blazersedge/CBSSports.com and the
Grandfather Godfather Dwight Jaynes. I will be in the building as well, most likely alone in a corner pouring silent lockout tears into my pint.
Immediately following the TBJ event: Actual (exhibition) basketball! Yes, Gola Award Winning real-life professional basketball playing human LaMarcus Aldridge is organizing a charity game to be held that Sunday evening. Stay tuned to Aldridge’s twitter account for details.
See you there.
The Aldridge hosted game is being called the “Rip City Basketball Classic” and will be held at the Chiles Center, November 6th, at 7:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased online here on November 1st. The list of participants is highlighted by Steve Blake and maybe Kevin Durant.
